Jacques Soriano | partner, sales

Where were you in 1982? Sales leader Jacques Soriano was starting in the printing & mail business writing orders, fetching coffee and generally doing what he was told.

He earned his way into management. Then moved on to head the Western Region sales department of a national printing franchise. He got a taste of direct marketing life, and headed off to run another department of the largest direct marketing company in the US. In 1995, he ventured into the sales arena of direct mail printing and production, and never (well, almost never) looked back.

Strengths: High level account management. When Jacques says it’s going to happen – it happens. When he says it’s on time – it’s on time. When he says it’s no problem – it’s no problem. Not the over-promising salesman.

Kevin Berg | partner, operations

What happens to a guy who got started just a little too late for the 1960’s, when we fought for selfless causes, struggled against tyranny, and reveled in free love? Disco, of course! And, direct mail marketing.

Operations partner Kevin Berg got his direct mail start straight out of college, selling direct mail processing and mailing services for a Midwestern high tech firm. He got excited about the marketing side, worked in several fast growing companies until he became V.P. of Marketing for a 70 million dollar firm, then made a grand exit in 1990 (he got fired), to start a little printing company with his beloved life partner Pam. They grew that into a good sized printing business, and started MMP Direct in 2004.

Strengths: Marketing and program development. Knows a lot about it. Knows how to cut to the point and put good, sensible, effective programs on the table. Hates to spend too much money doing it.

Pam Berg | partner, finance

You know that person who always manages to keep a level head under pressure? The cool headed one who just deals with the problem head-on and gets it done? The one you turn over your toughest customers over too, because you know they have the ability to mediate any situation? Don’t you just hate them?
In her life, Pam Berg has been a real estate agent, single mother, direct mail salesperson, operations manager for a variable data service bureau, political direct mail operations expert, chamber of commerce president, community volunteer, marketing manager and printing business owner. She’s in charge of finance and customer service for MMP Direct.
